Sign up today for: Finding Pleasure in Poetry with Kathleen Stevens
Some people really like reading poetry. Others, not so much. When was the last time you read a poem? In your mind, what makes a good poem?
Kathleen Stevens, a retired writing teacher from Rowan University, believes that outside of literature classes, the test of a poem's merit is whether it appeals to the person reading it. Join her Tuesday afternoons in June to consider poems from a range of poets. Discussion will include reflections on the craft of poetry - the way poets shape lines, employ sound and rhythm, and intensify meaning through word choice and imagery. We think you'll find poems that appeal to you.
When: Tuesdays at 2 PM: June 6, 13, 20 and 27
Where: Moorestown Library, Meeting Room A
