We’re heading to the starting line of science to learn the basics: how to make a scientific hypothesis and test it using experimentation. We’ll witness experiments involving air pressure, flash paper, eggs, Bernoulli's Principle and dry ice. But science isn’t a spectator sport – a few audience members will have a chance to participate in some of the experiments.

Join Ron Gottardi, Volunteer Director, of the Oral History Program of the Battleship New Jersey, to hear about the severest test of seamanship and leadership in WWII, a battle which cost more ships, lives, and aircraft than any other; not a battle with the enemy, but a battle with nature - a typhoon.  Who was the real hero in the Pacific War?  This is a true story.



See film taken during the December 1944 typhoon from the Battleship New Jersey and an oral history interview of the late Ed Holweger of Moorestown, a survivor of Halsey’s Typhoon.

Children will have a chance to compete in wacky events while the mad scientists prepare to unveil their top-secret motion machine. In this delightfully whimsical comedy from Scottish filmmaker Bill Forsyth, young oil company worker Peter Reigert is sent by eccentric Houston-based boss Burt Lancaster to a small Scottish town targeted as the site of a new refinery.  Once in the hamlet, Reigert falls under the spell of a group of unusual characters who never cease to surprise him.   Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits supplies the wistful, magical score.
