First Monday Films with Irv Slifkin: The Man Who Would Be King

Join film expert and author, Irv Slifkin, for this month's feature:  The Man Who Would Be King (1975)

John Huston's long-in-the-works adaptation of Rudyard Kipling's story stands tall as one of the greatest adventure sagas in movie history.  Sean Connery and Michael Caine are rascally ex-British Army members assigned to India who try to dupe the residents of a remote Afghanistan outpost of its treasures by posing as gods.  Huston attempted to make this film several times during his career, but this is an example of the old saying "good things come to those who wait."
