Save the date: Thursday, April 30

Every year a tiny shorebird called the red knot migrates 10,000 miles from the southern tip of South America to the Arctic.  The birds’ fuel for this epic journey is Horseshoe Crab eggs on the Delaware Bay.  Today Horseshoe Crab populations are in danger and with them the population of the red knot.

Jim May, Jr. works on the Delaware Bay in the Spring for ConserveWildlife as a docent, explaining the relationship between Horseshoe Crabs and shorebirds (specifically Red Knots).  He is a Rutgers Certified Environmental Steward and Master Gardener.  He briefs local politicians on Fracking concerns and clean water issues and lectures on Water Conservation and Quality.
