Directed by Stanley Kubrick. With Ryan O'Neal, Marissa Berenson, and Hardy Kruger. This inspired vision of another world, another time, is more than a mere filming of Thackeray's 19th century novel. It is a highly personal attempt at visualizing Lyndon's 18th century world on battlefields, boudoirs, casinos, and vast country estates, all recorded with some of the most articulate cinematography in screen history, a literate script, and a score from Handel, Bach, and Mozart.
