May 20: Amelia Earhart Atlantic Crossing: Anniversary
On this day in 1932, Amelia Earhart left Harbor Grace, Newfoundland, Canada at 7 p.m. and landed near Londonderry, Ireland. The 2,026-mile flight took 13 hours and 30 minutes. She was the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic.
