The library's smell

Question: "I love the library, but is there something we can do about the smell?! I'm sorry, but it smells like old books in there (yes, I understand this is a LIBRARY) but I just think we should buy some air fresheners with all the money from overdue books, movies, etc. Thanks!!"

Answer: The library's smell is due to the carpeting, books, and leaks from the roof. Nothing has been done to mask the smell because some people who actually don't care for the smell are sensitive / allergic to air fresheners and others actually like the way the library smells.

Switching email addresses

Question: "I was wondering if there was a way to switch the email address for the email sent from the library. My Mom gets emails about all the things I check out and I think I should be responsible for this. Please let me know if there is a way that I can get the emails instead of her."

Answer: "If the record in question belongs to a person under the age of 17, a parent or guardian is financially and legally responsible. Once the age of 17 is reached, an adult card can be obtained. An adult card permits the holder to use whatever email address they choose."
