Your suggestion: I think that you guys should start getting more new manga, anime, and comic books.

Our response:
Thank you for your interest! I always like to get suggestions from graphic novel fans, especially manga readers. We currently have a number of series on standing order, which means that we automatically get the new ones when they come out. Some of those series are Naruto, Fruits Basket, and InuYasha.

If you have particular titles or series that you'd like to see in the collection, please come talk to me!

Email reminder system

Question: A reminder system that automatically emails a reminder that books will be due soon would be great. They do that at Mount Laurel Library. You probably would get your books back on time more often.

Answer:
We agree with you that an email reminder system for due dates would be
useful. We do currently generate email notices for overdues, and hold
pick-up availability, but our current budget prevents us from adding the
software necessary for email due-date reminders. Thank you for the suggestion.

Children's CD-ROM software

Question: Could the children's department acquire some educational children's CD-ROM software for loan?

Our answer:

Thank you for your excellent suggestion. The library has acquired a small
collection of children's CD-ROMs through donation and purchase, and we are
currently working on repackaging and cataloging these items to get them
ready for loan. Look for our new collection sometime after the holidays.

Searching for large print books in the catalog

Question: I would like to know how to look at your large print collection titles online. Am I missing something?

Our answer: The easiest way to see what titles the library owns in large print is to do a subject search.

Go to the library catalog
Click on search the catalog and then choose Subject as your search method.
Enter "large type books" as your search terms.

If you have any further questions, please let us know.

Website suggestion

Hi,

I would like to suggest a site for the teen careers page located here:
http://www.moorestown.lib.nj.us/teencareers.html

The name of this site is Best of the Web - Employment. It's a helpful resource for researching employment in the United States. http://botw.org/top/Regional/United_States/Business_and_Economy/Employment/

Thanks!

Our answer:
Thank you for your suggestion! We are currently redesigning the teen area of the library website and I will keep the link information to add to the new site.

Thanks,

Purchase suggestion

Robert Stricklin
A necessary evil

This book is available for interlibrary loan through JerseyCat. You may also call the Reference Desk to place your request.

Create a new tag system for each item borrowed

Create a new tag system for each item borrowed so readers know each item's due date. The stickums were fine. Old fashioned cardstock in a jacket pocket with date stamp is fine. The current loose piece of paper we get to go in one item does not serve the purpose unless only one item is borrowed.

Our answer:

Unfortunately, the machines that created the due date stickers have broken and are no longer made. In the interest of accuracy, we need to use a receipt system integrated with our circulation system. The receipts that patrons receive at checkout have the due dates for all of the items checked out on that day. You can also check the due dates for your items by calling the Circulation Desk at 234-0333 or by viewing your patron record online.

Re-do the library!

I think the library should re-do the whole thing. Everything should be different! It is way to cramed in here. The things need more space, it is also very hot in the summer because they don't have air conditioning.

Our response:

Thank you for your note. We agree that the space situation in the current
library is very crowded. I encourage you to visit the library web site and
take a look at the plans for a new library. Town Council voted to proceed
with these plans at their meeting on March 23rd. There will be much more
efficient use of space and a far more comfortable environment for everyone.

Last summer, the township did install a new chiller unit to provide the
library with good air conditioning during the warm months. I think you
will find it is much cooler and drier in the building, when the weather is
warm.
